How ‘Murasu’ became the first Tamil name for a tropical cyclone

‘Murasu’ is the first Tamil name to be assigned to a tropical cyclone since the naming of cyclones over north Indian Ocean began in September 2004. ‘Murasu’ refers to a traditional Tamil percussion instrument.
