India inks $248 million deal with Russia for tank engines
India signed a $248 million contract with Russia's Rosoboronexport for 1,000 HP engines to enhance T-72 tanks' mobility and offensive capability. This deal involves technology transfer for local production, boosting the 'Make in India' initiative. The Army is also inducting upgraded T-90S and Arjun tanks, along with light tanks for high-altitude warfare.
