AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has nominated Shan Ali, a history sheeter accused of murdering a police officer in 2016, as his party's candidate for the Sherghati seat. Ali, currently out on bail and facing numerous serious charges, was described by Owaisi as a "crusader against injustice." Sherghati is set to vote on November 11.
