Uttar Pradesh has vaccinated and sterilized 2.8 lakh stray dogs under its animal birth control program across 2023-24 and 2024-25. The state established 17 permanent ABC centers and approved two more for Lucknow and Ghaziabad with a budget of Rs 34 crore.
